Virtual Job Shadowing
Last Thursday we were involved with several other companies in this really sweet idea - let students in the classroom shadow our jobs via Twitter!
When is it time to quit?
When is it time to quit? That’s a question I hadn’t thought about until recently when my friend Phil Yanov brought it up. My knee-jerk reaction was “NEVER!” but the more we discussed it the more I began to see that there is validity to quitting at the right time. Let me ‘splain myself. I’ve always been an entrepreneur at heart. I love the idea of building something that will benefit many people for the long term.
Extra to make sure
When we build a website, we spend about 20% of the allotted time designing the user experience and the graphics, and about 20% more programming the features of the site. In other words, it only takes 40% of the process to build what you might expect to see when the website is finished.
Creativity by Default
A guitar’s tuning is rather strange. The strings are separated in pitch by inconsistent intervals that were designed to make a few chords and patterns easier for your fingers to form. Listen to folk music with an untrained ear and you’ll hear familiar changes and progressions. They are pleasant and time-tested, but hardly represent the possible combinations of sounds that can be made with six strings worth of tone.
